Congratulations Craig Cannon Wins Contest and $200 Prize

EPIC New HR Platform to Streamline Employee Onboarding and Engagement

At Garden Village, we believe in creating a culture of collaboration and involvement at every level. That’s why, when it came time to name the new HR system, we turned to our most valuable resource: our employees. Garden Village hosted a contest asking employees to name the new HR platform.

Congratulations, Craig Cannon: Wins Contest and $200 Prize

The spotlight shines on Craig Cannon from the Community Services team, who is the winner of the naming contest. For his exceptional contribution, Craig has been awarded a $200 gift card. His winning entry introduced the name “GV EPIC HR.”

A Name with a Purpose: “GV EPIC HR”

Craig’s submission represents Garden Village’s core values, and his entry displayed a careful alignment with the organisation’s vision.

“GV” is a shorthand for “greatly valued,” while “HR” stands not only for Human Resources but also for “Honest” and “Respect.”

“Garden Village greatly values our epic staff, as they are the cornerstone of who we are. The new name captures that staff are the centre of who we are.  ‘Epic’ is a colloquial term to describe how Garden Village views its team – “Epic.”  Each letter ties back to the Garden Village values: Enablement, Positivity, Integrity, and Collaboration,” said Craig.

Thanks to our shortlisted entrants

Garden Village thanks the shortlisted employees who shared their naming suggestions for the new HR System. Donna, Emily, Cheryl, and Sandra contributed wonderful ideas that showcase the creativity within the Garden Village team.

Aligned with the Employer of Choice Strategy

The new HR system is a step forward in Garden Village’s strategic plan to be an Employer of Choice. The new platform streamlines employee onboarding and elevates employee engagement as well as supporting the organisation’s digital transformation goals.

From Paper to Pixels

In a move towards sustainability, the new platform significantly reduces paper usage within the HR team. Traditional paper forms have made way for user-friendly online systems. This boosts operational efficiency and supports Garden Village’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

EPIC Transformation

The new EPIC HR Portal promises to transform all interactions with valued team members and will launch to all employees in September. The EPIC benefits include:

  • Enhanced Team Productivity: By minimising administrative tasks, the platform frees up valuable time.
  • Green Impact: A reduction in paper usage contributes to a greener environment, aligning with Garden Village’s sustainability objectives.
  • Enhanced Employee Experience: The new platform is all about creating an enhanced experience for every member of the Garden Village team from new employees to long standing team members.
