Garden Village residents participate in a weekly craft group. Not only is it a wonderful social gathering but all creations are for sale with proceeds going towards our Aged Care Facility.

The Craft Group hold a craft store a few times each year that is open to the public. Goods can also be purchased at anytime from reception.

Men’s Shed

Men’s Shed

Garden Village Men’s Shed meets every Monday and Wednesday to drink coffee, eat cake and tinker with their tools. They also do a great job at repairing items around the village and making toys and other goods for sale. Items can be purchased anytime from reception.
Op Shop

Op Shop

A serious team of dedicated volunteers spend endless hours organising and running the Garden Village Op Shop. To date they have raised over $70,000 with all proceeds going towards enhancing the lives of our Aged Care residents. Our Op Shop is open every Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 12.30pm and every second Saturday of the Month. Access via Findlay Ave.

Dream Weaving was established by a team of staff who identified an opportunity to further enhance the lives of our residents through simple initiatives that create special experiences and lasting memories.

A Dream Weaving experience can be as simple as visiting the beach or going fishing. It can extend to more complex experiences, like flying in an aeroplane or visiting a far away destination. Whatever the experience we ensure it is captured in photos and or film so that it has a lasting impact on the resident and allows them to share their experience with others.

Dream Weaving has been an important program to help enhance the mood and cognitive stimulation of our residents. The program sees initial positive results, impacting a resident’s mindset by giving them something to look forward to and creating an opportunity for them to engage with staff and peers. Often the process of developing the Dream Weaving experience is just as satisfying as the experience itself.

The impact of a Dream Weaving experience is not limited to the resident only. Staff and other stakeholders share in the experience which provides a great deal or satisfaction and sense of community.
